Apply for an old-age pension
Check when you can apply, an indicative amount and the documents. Pensions are paid at Irad Pochtasy counters from the 10th.
Responsible body: Social Fund of the ISEZ; payments through Irad Pochtasy
Guide to this service
The old-age pension is paid by the Social Fund of the ISEZ from the age of 63. It is made up of a base amount and an amount for each year of recorded service, up to 40 years. Apply in the month before your 63rd birthday at the Social Fund office of your district or city, on form SF-1.
Who can apply
- Residents of the ISEZ who have reached 63, with at least ten years of recorded service.
- With fewer than ten years of service a social pension is paid from the same age.
- Service before 1992 in the tribal regions or in other Soviet republics counts if it is confirmed by records; statements of clan councils are not accepted as proof of service.
What to bring
- Form SF-1
- Your identity card and residence registration
- Your work record book
- A certificate of earnings for any 60 consecutive months before 2000, from the employer; if the employer no longer exists, from the State Archives
- Your military service record, if any
- For service in another Soviet republic: confirmation from an archive of that state, requested by you
Fees and state duty
| Base amount | IS 1,150 a month |
| For each year of service, up to 40 | IS 18 a month |
| Social pension (fewer than 10 years) | IS 850 a month |
There is no fee for the application. The amount is set by the Social Fund when the documents have been checked.
How long it takes
- Apply in the month before you reach 63, not earlier: applications made earlier are returned.
- The decision is made in ten working days once the documents are complete; archive confirmations can take much longer and are the usual cause of delay.
- Pensions are paid from the 10th of each month.
Where to go
- The Social Fund office of your district or city, Monday to Thursday, 9:00–16:00.
- Payment: at the Irad Pochtasy counter of your registered address, or into a Talasbank account. Someone else can collect your pension with a power of attorney on form P-27.
Common reasons for refusal or return
- The application was made earlier than the month before the 63rd birthday.
- The work record book has corrections without a stamp.
- The certificate of earnings covers fewer than 60 consecutive months.
- Service is confirmed only by a statement of a clan council.
Online submission (pilot)
This service is in the e-Irad online submission pilot. Form SF-1 can be submitted on the Applications online page instead of at the counter; the receiving body's term is 10 working days. Originals are presented when the result is collected.
